There are two types of Generic Carrier modules:

• Standard Generic Carrier

• LTL Generic Carrier

Standard Generic Carrier Module

Add custom-tailored carriers to adhere to the requirements of most carriers, such as:

• Define unlimited services, such as Ground and Air.

• Outline zone-driven services (like UPS Ground), route-driven services (like Airborne), or set up simple, non-zoned services.

• Define rate tables for both domestic and international shipments.

• The tables can have rate per weight entries or rate per range of weights, or other more extrinsic permutations.

• Impose various discount methods on the rates.

• Define shipping labels, airwaybills, COD tags, and other specialty labels to meet carrier requirements, along with our Form Generator module.

• Customize reports and manifests, also along with our Form Generator module.

 

Enhanced Rate Shopping

Once defined, generic carriers are added to system-wide features, such as rate shopping with SmartShop.

Auto-switching

If an added carrier only provides services to limited parts of the country, ProShip®
automatically recognizes the carrier’s limitations when shipped to a “no service” area, and switches to another carrier. Shipping automatically resumes with the generic carrier.

 

Generic LTL Carrier Module

The LTL Generic Carrier module is similar to the Standard Generic Carrier module, but it is uniquely tailored for Less than Truck Load (LTL) carriers, such as Consolidated Freight, Yellow Freight, Roadway, etc.
